FOOD PANTRY REPORT AND SHORTAGES AS OF FEBRUARY 13
Food donations received last week were more than any week since last September – Thank you! Still, our food reserves remain the lowest of the last three years with client numbers our second-highest ever for this time of year (after only 2021). Keep it up please!
Shortages for next week’s distribution are the least in several months: (1) pasta sauce (estimated 66 cans/ bottles short), and (2) canned fruit (estimated 50 cans short). Additional shortage for the 27 February distribution: the above plus (3) “meals in a can” (stew, canned pasta, chili, etc.), (4) pasta, (5) canned beans (black/kidney/red/etc.), (6) dry, unsweetened cereal, and (7) dry rice/beans. (We continue to halve distribution of canned soup due to insufficient, albeit improved, supply.) There is sufficient canned tuna/meat/fish for four weeks, and mac & cheese for three weeks. All else is short for 6 March.
We also need: Similac Blue and Similac Orange baby formula, and/or domestic or foreign equivalents/substitutes, baby food numbers 1 and 2, and diapers size 6. Also needed are adult unisex pull-ups sizes medium and large.
Plastic newspaper bags and plastic grocery bags are always needed.
Over the week ending with the 13 February distribution, we received approximately 3.51 tons of non-perishable food, and gave out some 2.58 tons of non-perishable food and about the same amount of perishable food to 265 families.
Many thanks to everyone who can help us help those in need!
