FOOD PANTRY REPORT/SHORTAGES FOR NOVEMBER 27

As usual, after Thanksgiving, food donations fell off, while client numbers were higher than we expected. Over the week ending with the 27 November distribution, we received approximately 2.42 tons of non-perishable food donations, and gave out some 3.56 tons of non-perishable food and substantially more perishable food to 366 families.

Estimated shortages for the next two distributions (projecting 390 families for the next two weeks): (1) canned soup (short c.825 cans), (2) pasta sauce (short approx. 600 bottles/cans), (3) canned fruit (short approx. 563 cans), (4) “meals in a can” (stew, canned pasta, chili, etc. -- short c.538 cans), (5) oatmeal/ cereal (short c.456 units), (6) tuna/canned meat/canned fish (short c.450 cans), (7) dry rice/beans (short c.369 pounds), (8) mac & cheese (short c.340 boxes), (9) canned beans (short c.275 cans), (10) pasta (short approx. 136 boxes), and (11) canned vegetables+ (short approx. 83 cans).

We also need: Similac Blue and Similac Orange baby formula, and/or domestic or foreign equivalents/substitutes, Pediasure, diapers numbers 1 and 3, and baby wipes. Paper grocery bags (Wegmans or Trader Joe size) and plastic newspaper bags and plastic grocery bags are always needed.

May God bless you for all your help!
