FOOD PANTRY REPORT/SHORTAGES FOR AUGUST 7
Updated: Aug 25
This week was the third week of the last four to hit a new 31- year record for a non-holiday food distribution, passing last week’s previous record by 37 families. We have also served over 300 families each week for four weeks – the first time this has happened at this Pantry. Over the week ending with the 7 August distribution, we received approximately 3.15 tons of non-perishable food, and gave out some 3.47 tons of nonperishable food and rather less perishable food to 356 families.
Estimated shortages for the next two distributions: (1) canned soup (short c.550 cans), (2) “meals in a can” (stew, canned pasta, chili, etc. -- short c.450 cans), (3) canned fruit (short approx. 438 cans), (4) pasta sauce (short approx. 390 bottles/cans), (5) pasta (short approx. 389 boxes), (6) canned vegetables (short approx. 330 cans) , (7) mac & cheese (short c.230 boxes), (8) oatmeal (short c.198 units), and (9) canned beans (short c.165 cans),. (We believe we have sufficient dry rice & beans for three weeks.)
We also need: Similac Blue and Similac Orange baby formula, and/or domestic or foreign equivalents/substitutes, diapers sizes 4 and 5, baby wipes, and Pediasure. In addition we need Ensure, and adult pull-ups sizes medium, large and extra-large. Plastic newspaper bags and plastic grocery bags are always needed. We need your help in order to help those in need!
