REPORT AND SHORTAGES AS OF JANUARY 9

Shortages for next week’s distribution: (1) dry, unsweetened cereal (estimated 188 boxes short), (2) canned beans (black/ kidney/red/etc – estimated 156 cans short), (3) pasta sauce (estimated 104 bottles/cans short), and (4) dry rice/beans (estimated 50 pounds short). Additional shortage for the 23 January distribution: all of the above plus (5) pasta, (6) “meals in a can” (stew, canned pasta, chili, etc.), (7) canned soup, (8) mac & cheese, and (9) canned fruit. There are sufficient canned vegetables and canned tuna/meat/fish to cover through 30 January.


In addition, we need: Similac Blue and Similac Orange baby formula, and/or domestic or foreign equivalents/substitutes. We also need: diapers sizes 2, and 5, and Pediasure. Also needed ,Ensure for adults, and adult unisex pullups sizes medium and large.


Plastic newspaper bags and plastic grocery bags are always needed.


Over the week ending with the 9 January distribution, we received approximately 2.29 tons of non-perishable food, and gave out some 2.59 tons of non-perishable food and somewhat less perishable food to 266 families.


Last week, for the fourth time in five weeks, we received less donated food than we gave out, dropping food reserves to the lowest level in months, while average client numbers for the time of year are now the highest in our records. Many thanks to everyone who can help us help those in need!
