Shortages in order of need: (1) “meals in a can”: (stew/canned pasta/chili/etc.), (2) dry unsweetened cereal, and (3) pasta sauce.

Also needed: Similac Blue, diapers sizes 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, and baby wipes. Also Pediasure and Ensure for adults.

Plastic newspaper bags and plastic grocery bags are always needed. Paper grocery bags are also needed.

NOT needed at this time: tuna/canned meat/canned fish, or mac and cheese (at current projected client numbers we have over 13 weeks supply of each on hand, or canned vegetables (currently almost 9 weeks supply on hand).

We received approximately 2.66 tons of non-perishable food over the week up until 20 December. With this and current reserves we expect to cover December 27 and January 3 projected distributions, with the above projected shortages for the January 10 distribution.

We gave out some 2.51 tons of non-perishable food, and somewhat less perishable food (bread and pastries, fresh vegetables and fruit, etc. – primarily donated by local stores) to 258 families in the week ending with the Christmas distribution Monday, December 20. This was our largest distribution since last April. Many thanks to all those helping us to help our neighbors in need!

We encourage volunteers, including student volunteers, who are essential to help sort, store and distribute all this food!
