ST. MARTIN’S FOOD PANTRY REPORT SEPTEMBER 20, 2021

SHORTAGES: In order of need: (1) “add-ins” (crackers/ cookies/standard condiments/etc.), (2) canned soup, (3) pasta sauce, and (4) pasta.

Also needed: diapers sizes 5 and 6, as well as Similac Blue, and, child and adult-size pull-ups

•Plastic plastic newspaper bags and plastic grocery bags are always needed.

•Not needed at this time: mac & cheese and tuna/canned meat/canned fish (over three months’ supply still on hand), paper bags and egg cartons. We received approximately 3.94 tons of food over this past week, from which we can cover this coming Monday’s anticipated needs and most of the following Monday as well. Thanks to all who contributed!

This past week we gave out some 1.81 tons of non-perishable food, and a rather larger amount of perishable food (bread and pastries, fresh vegetables and fruit, etc. – primarily donated by local stores) to 186 families on Monday, 20 September. The first two food categories above are short for two weeks out and the remainder for the following week. Volunteer help is needed! With school starting, we are missing many of our student volunteers – these and all our helpers are essential to help sort, store and distribute the quantity of food we receive and distribute every week to those in need.
