Food Pantry Report - July 5, 2024

Due to publishing deadlines, results of our 1 July distribution are not yet available as this is written. We will provide those next week. Over the week ending with 24 June, we received approximately 4.14 tons of non-perishable food, and gave out some 4.18 tons and somewhat less perishable food to 429 families.

Your help enabled us during the just-concluded fiscal year to distribute, by our count, 19,203 bags of food to those in need, nearly 44% more than our previous record during the first full year of the pandemic. May God bless all of you for your support for the Pantry!

Shortages for the next two distributions (projecting 410 families for each week): (1) canned vegetables (short approx. 871 cans), (2) pasta (short approx. 544 boxes), (3) pasta sauce (short c.460 bottles/cans), (4) tuna/canned meat/canned fish (short c. 433 cans), (5) “meals in a can” (stew, canned pasta, chili, etc. - short c. 408 cans), (6) mac & cheese (short approx. 380 boxes), (7) dry rice/beans (short c.374 pounds), (8) canned fruit (short c. 346 cans), (9) oatmeal/cereal (short c.345 boxes), (10) canned soup (short approx. 293 cans), and (11) canned beans (short c. 257cans).

We also need: Similac Blue and Similac Orange baby formula, and/or domestic or foreign equivalents/substitutes, baby food, Nos. 3, 4. 5 and 6 diapers, baby wipes, Pediasure, Ensure, and adult diapers/Depends sizes small, medium and extra-large. With thanks for a recent very large donation of the same, please hold off for the time being on any donation of size large adult diapers/Depends.

Paper grocery bags (Wegmans or Trader Joe size) and plastic newspaper bags and plastic grocery bags are always needed.
