The Rite of Christian Initiation
The process of preparing to enter into full communion with the Church through the Rite of Christian Initiation for Children and Teens is a special moment in a person's life. God is calling you closer to him and is waiting to give you the gift of his grace through the Sacraments of Baptism, Communion and Confirmation.
Along with your parents, the Priests, catechists and the Faith Formation Office are here to walk with you on this
spiritual journey. During this time of preparation, we invite you and your family to delve further into your faith, to seek and ask for a deeper relationship with Christ. The St. Martin’s Faith Community will work with you to provide opportunities for growth and encounter in order to welcome you fully and participate in the life of faith of the Church.
Rite of Christian Initiation for Children (Not Baptized)
The sacraments of Christian initiation - Baptism, Confirmation, and the Eucharist- lay the foundations of every Christian life. (CIC 1212)
This program is designed for children from 1st to 8th grade who have not been Baptized. Due to the state of consciousness in which they are, they are catechized to initiate them in the Christian life completely, preparing them to receive the sacraments of Baptism, First Communion and Confirmation in a single ceremony. It consists of four stages of training that work on each student in a different way. This can last two years or more since it depends on the disposition and openness that each student shows during the process. It is a program that involves the close participation of parents and godparents.
