FOOD PANTRY REPORT/SHORTAGES FOR JANUARY 2 2024

Over the week ending with the 26 December distribution, we received approximately 2.08 tons of non-perishable food donations, and gave out some 2.17 tons of non-perishable food and somewhat more perishable food to 223 families. Over the week ending with the 2 January distribution, we received approximately 2.96 tons of non-perishable food, and gave out some 2.38 tons of non-perishable food and substantially more perishable food to 244 families.


As of the time this is written, estimated shortages for the next two distributions (projecting 380 families for each of the next two weeks): (1) canned soup (short c.541 cans), (2) dry rice/ beans (short c.474 pounds), (3) pasta sauce (short approx. 472 bottles/cans), (4) “meals in a can” (stew, canned pasta, chili, etc. -- short c.396 cans, (5) pasta (short approx. 392 boxes), (6) canned beans (short c.339 cans), (7-tie) canned fruit (short approx. 233 cans)and (7-tie) tuna/canned meat/canned fish (short c.233 cans), and (9) canned vegetables (short some 183 cans).


We also need: Similac Blue and Similac Orange baby formula, and/or domestic or foreign equivalents/substitutes, and baby wipes.


Paper grocery bags (Wegmans or Trader Joe or Lidl size) and plastic newspaper bags and plastic grocery bags are always needed.
