Message from Fr. Joe - August 30, 2026

Dear St. Martin’s Parishioners,

In many ways, it's great to be a kid. This week school began again for St Martin's. Almost 200 children began a year which will be totally focused on learning. Highly dedicated teachers, faculty, and staff work together to teach them important subjects like math, religion, and science, as well as providing sports and after-school activities which enrich their learning. This is a great gift!

As adults, who is dedicated to teaching us? If we want to learn something new, we usually have to learn on our own. When was the last time you learned something new? A subject, skill, or activity? Most importantly, when did you last learn something about our Catholic faith? The faith is rich, full of wisdom and stories. It has the power to transform our lives. But we must seek that knowledge. In a book, in a discussion group, or in a homily at Mass. Don't let the Faith become old news to you. There is always something new to explore.

If you're not sure where to start, go to the Bible-- especially the daily Mass readings. God has packed so much wisdom in there and he wants you to find it. In finding this wisdom we can know and love him more every day.
